St. Philip Church Foundation Day

St. Philip Church, Aurangabad (Cantonment) celebrated its 104th Foundation Day on Sunday, the 19th of February 2017.

The St. Philip Church comes under the Diocese of Marathwada of the Church of North India (CNI). 

On this momentous and blessed occassion, the St. Philip Chuch in collaboration with the Mother Teresa Social and Medical Foundation conducted a One-Day Health Check-up Camp within the Church premises after the Sunday morning Service.

The camp was organized by Mr. Bipin P. Nirmal, President of the Mother Teresa Social and Medical Foundation.

The occassion was presided by the Hon. Bishop of Marathwada Diocese Right Rev. M. U. Kasab and Priest-in-Charge Rev. S. S. Battise, the Hon. Secretary of the Marathwada Diocese and other dignitaries.

All Praise and Glory be to our Heavenly Father.

Youth Day Celebration

Christ Church celebrated Youth Sunday on 28th August, 2016. Reverend S. Y. Ghule conducted special prayers for the youths in our community. Alter Boy Jijo Khetre gave a very good message on this occassion.


After the Sunday service, the youths were given refreshments and then they all participated in several games like Tug-the-rope, Lemon-Spoon race, Passing-the-parcel and Musical chairs. Soveneirs were given to the winners. 


This Sunday thus marked a very happy day for all youths and every Church member appreciated and lauded their efforts in building a strong and faithful community.

Recent Events

1. Water Project for villages: The Diocese of Mumbai has provided financial of INR 3,00,000 to aid the severely drought-affected villages of Aurangabad and Jalna districts. About 40 villages have benefited from this project. The project is being conducted over a 2-month period and water is provided to each of the 40 villages every alternate day.

2. Water Project for Missionaries: Mr. George John and Ms. Zakaria from IGM have provided a financial aid of INR 10,000 to provide water for Christian Missionaries from the areas of Varudi and Shekta.

3. Missionary Program: The National Missionary Society (NMS) is conducting a special program for Missionaries. 23 missionaries have taken part in this program.

4. Base-Line Data Survey: The Diocesan Board of Social Services & Social Activities is conducting a Base-line Data Survey (BLD). The motto of this program is "Let us rebuild walls and rebuild lives".

5. Vacation Bible Study: VBS was conducted in the churches of Jalna and Aurangabad in the month of May, 2016.

6. Prospective Bride and Bridegroom Orientation Campus: A special introductory and orientation campus was conducted for prospective brides and bridegrooms in May 2016 in the Christ Church, Cantt.campus in May 2016. Boys and girls of marriageable age and divorcees too took part in this event. The event was well-attended and a success.

The Rt. Revd. M. U. Kasab taking additional charge as Moderator's Episcopal Commissioner, Pune Diocese

The Rt. Revd. M. U. KASAB, Bishop of Marathwada is also going to look after the Diocese of Pune as Moderator's Episcopal Commissioner w.e.f. 1 April 2016. Our Bishop was welcomed yesterday in the Diocesan office, Pune. 
We, the Marathwada Diocesan family wish our dear Bishop, all the best for his new endeavour.
We hope and pray that God will bless him and guide him as Bishop is going to take the charge of the Pune Diocese.
Please uphold our Bishop in your prayers.

Women Orientation Training Program

The Women Orientation Training Program (SHG) for Rural Women held at the Diocese of Marathwada on 29th & 30th March 2016 at ST. Philip’s Church. 

This was the vision of C.N.I Synod General Secretary Mr. Alwan Masih, who always stressed towards the growth of women in village pastorate.

Keeping the vision ahead a joint program organized by the Church of North India in partnership with the Diocese of Marathwada, Aurangabad was a grand success. Thirty women from five village pastorates actively participated in the two-day Follow - Up program.

Wonderful and Joyful Love Feast organized by the Christ Church Cathedral family Jalna on 26 March 2016.

This fellowship feast marks the closing of 40 days fasting. Nearly 5000 members participated in this Love feast. The Bishop of the Diocese The Rt. Revd. M. U. Kasab, shared God’s word focusing on the biblical event of the Last Supper.

The Revd. P.K. Aksal, Presbyter In-charge of the Christ Church Cathedral informed that the feast was a grand success

Each member of the congregation gave grocery items such as wheat, rice, oil, ghee etc., freely, thereby making the church not to bear any expenses.
